Commencement Information for the College Class of 2014

Events involving family members of the College Class of 2014 graduates begin on Tuesday, May 27. You should plan to participate in all the activities and be in Cambridge from May 27–29, 2014, with Thursday, May 29 (Commencement) being the most important day to attend.

Ticket Information 

Senior Desk: Beginning Tuesday, May 6, 2014 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, seniors are invited to come to the Senior Desk at the Harvard Alumni Association Office, on the 6th floor at 124 Mount Auburn Street in Cambridge, to pick up all of the tickets to which they are entitled and to purchase additional tickets. This is the only way for students to pick up all tickets.

When students arrive at the Senior Desk, they can purchase additional tickets with cash, check, or credit card and/or pick up tickets that their parents have requested and purchased in advance.

Advanced ticket purchasing for parents and guests can be done securely online beginning April 1, 2014 and until May 2, 2014. Additional ticket purchases starting May 6 (and until May 28) must be done by students at the Senior Desk.

Enjoy dinner and drinks with your senior, as well as other families and guests. Enjoy a casual lunch in the Old Yard before the start of the Class Day Exercises. Tickets are complimentary for the graduating senior and two guests, and tickets are $10 per each additional person. All additional reservations must be made in advance, either online or at the Senior Desk. Class Day Exercises
Wednesday, May 28 at 2:00 PM
For seniors and guests, featuring the presentation of the Ames Awards, the Harvard and Ivy Orations, and the Class Ode, sung to the tune of "Fair Harvard." A remarkable display of eloquence and entertainment by fellow classmates, complemented by the 2014 Class Day speaker. Each senior is entitled to five complimentary tickets. Graduating seniors will require one of these tickets for entry. Additional tickets may also be available at the Senior Desk.

Commencement—The Morning Exercises
Thursday, May 29 at 9:45 AM (gates open at 6:45 AM)For the Morning Exercises, seniors in academic regalia (cap and gown) do not need tickets for the Commencement Morning Exercises in Tercentenary Theatre (security lanyards and regalia are required for entry). Family members and guests will require tickets for the Commencement Morning Exercises.  The Commencement Morning Exercises are extremely crowded (over 32,000 people attend) and, consequently, tickets are limited to a maximum of four per graduating senior (no exceptions). Please note that a ticket does not guarantee a seat. The sale of Commencement tickets is also strictly prohibited. Commencement—Luncheon and Diploma Presentation
Thursday, May 29 at 12:00 PM
Between the Commencement Morning Exercises and Afternoon Program, in each House, there is a diploma presentation ceremony and luncheon. This is the ceremony where the graduate actually receives his/her diploma. Tickets are not required for the ceremony but are required for the luncheon. Tickets are complimentary for the graduating senior and two guests. Additional guest tickets can be purchasedbeginning in May of 2014 or during the lunch from the checker for ~$15 each (cash only on the day of Commencement). For all information about the luncheon and tickets, please contact your senior’s House Office. Commencement—The Afternoon ProgramThursday, May 29 at 2:30 PM
Students will receive five Afternoon Program tickets (one for the graduate and four for guests), where addresses by the Harvard President and the Commencement Speaker are scheduled. The Epic Story of Eric

The Epic Story of Eric

  It all started when Eric was 17 years old. It was June 18^th  in the Sunday  afternoon it’s his birthday, his father gave him a sport motorcycle as a present for him, “The Black Hatori” is the name of the motorcycle and it’s quiet fast, it can travelled 100mph just in 11 seconds. Eric loves his motorcycle very much and Eric thanked to his mom and dad for giving him an amazing sport motorcyle. The next Morning Eric warmed up the motorcycle, because it’s a 650cc engine so it is necessary to do the warming up first before Eric use his Motorcycle. “ I think I will get a girlfriend if I bring this to my school and I wont be look like a nerd anymore. Hahahaha” Said Eric proudly. At 7 o’clock he arrived on his school and parked his Motorcycle.
   During the class, Eric did not pay attention to the subject in school, but he busy on talking about his new Hatori and he present it arrogantly bad. After school Eric had an idea, he brought his motorcycle in front of his crush named Carly. Somehow it works, Eric got her attention and he start to talk “How’s my ride?” “Looks nice on you?” “Pardon me?” “I like you…” “WHAT?” Eric Blushing. “ Oh… umm.. I..I..I mean I like your new ride” “ Ok, nice to meet you then” “Nice too meet you too Eric, take care”. Eric went back to home. On the way home, Eric took the other way home, he took the highway road which was not much car were there. “Please don’t disappointed me !” Said Eric in his heart. Eric drove  very fast just like a drag racer and like a madman he drove carelessly. He travelled with his ride is over a 155mph , the maximum speed of his motorcycle, and he did it only in 16 seconds. Thank God he’s saved, he felt so proud at that time and he wanted to repeat it on the next day.

 
  On the next day, Eric go to school as usual but there was something that is not usual, he went there with carly on his back. With Carly on His back Eric drove the motorcycle very carefully and chat with her all the way to school. Eric felt very happy on his sweet 17^th age because of his new ride and he’s getting close with his crush Carly. 3 month later Eric decided to take a chance for asking Carly to be his girl and he thought about that very very carefull and he sure that his plan is going to work. When the times is come for the summer holiday Eric ask Carly to had a diner with him tonight at the café around her house and Carly agreed to meet him. Eric was so different, he used to be a simple style. But tonight he would have a special night, So he’s not using T-Shirt and Shorts but he’s using a shirt and a jeans and he did not forget to buy a gift for Carly. Eric phoned Carly “ Get ready, I’ll catch you om 8” “ Ok, don’t make me wait” “yes mam”.
  Eric went at 7 o’clock and wanted to take his gift on a gift shop about 2 miles from his house. Actually, he got on a traffic that night and it took 30 minutes to reached the gift shop and its about 5 miles to reach Carly’s House. Carly texted him “Where are you now? Don’t make me wait, quickly”. As Eric knew that, He started to drive the motorcycle very very fast like a madman just in past, When he reached 120mph, Somehow a tow truck showed up his way and Eric cant brake his motorcycle because its too risky and too fast So Eric dodged to left and he badly hit by a bus. Carly did not know what happened and she waited for 2 hours and Eric had not come yet, So she texted him “you disappointed me, thanks for tonight and for sure. I DON’T WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED AGAIN FOR THE 2^nd TIME SO DON’T ASK ME FOR A DINER AGAIN. BYE!”

  Eric was badly injured, his bones where broken and he got a brain disorder now because of his head hit the ground when he fell from his Hatori. Erik woke up and he said “where is my motorcycle?” his father said “ I have it broken” “Why?” “Because that thing is a monster, it things made you like this now, I don’t want to see my son hurt or DIE!” “you disappointed me”. In the night, Eric Checked his phone and there was an old message from Carly. He was forget and he Shocked. He forget that he want to ask her to be his girl and he shocked that he have made his crush disappointed. He don’t know that his brain disorder is sensitive to an electronic things once he used electronic gadget I will kill him slowly. Eric texted her back “ Im sorry I did not made it, I make you disappointed, and I know it should be a wonderful night for us” She replied “I don’t want to belive you anymore. Im done” Eric started to feel confused, but he kept texting “ok, I understand car, all I want to say. Would you be my girlfriend?” She replied “ A GIRL FRIEND? YOU’RE JOKING RIGHT? YOU KNOW… I LIKE YOU JUST BECAUSE U HAVE A NICE SPORT MOTORCYLE! AND I DON’T REALLY LOVE YOU, SO I DON’T CARE”
  So it was what happened on the last night of Eric life. 1 day later, Carly been told that Eric had passed away. At first she did not believed it and texted him “NOW WHAT? ANOTHER JOKE TO MAKE YOUR MISTAKE GONE? NO WAY!”. Soon Carly been called with her friend. “YOU ARE EVIL, GO TO HELL! U THINK THAT ERIC WAS TRYING TO MAKE YOU HAPPY? LIE OF HIS DEATH?” Carly did not believe it and she throw away her phone and she thought about suicide because of she felt so terrible to Eric. She ended up with her head on a rope hanged up in her room. And so it was an Epic Story of Eric.



SUMMARY

You have to drive motorcycle very carefully. Don't go with a high speed because it's very easy to falling down.

Telling About My Self

My name is Luqman Naufal Chairuasni. People like to call me Luqman. I was born on the 6th of April in 1997, which means I am 16 years old now. I have got 2 siblings, 2 brothers. Then I have got my mom and dad too. I'm mostly close with my little brother, as my twin. However, I do love my big brother too and make the most of it whenever I am with them.

 

I have been living and studying in Indonesia untill now (16 years old). I finished off my Junior High School 5 in 3 years absolutely. I love going to school and I have always taken my studies seriously(sometimes). I have never said to anyone in my life, that 'I hate studies'.I have got big dreams, when it comes to studies.So that is my goal and I always try to aim to do my best at school, so hopefully my hard work will pay off in the end. When I'm in elementary school I always want to be an athlete because I'm good in sport. Now, my dream is becoming on of the richest person in Indonesia by becoming an success bussinessmen.

 

Some interests I have got are doing sport, wacthing movies, cooking(sometimes) and playing with my close friends. I love sport because it makes us healtier and for refreshing our brain from a tired brain of school. Sport also can make us closer with our friends by talking each others.Moving on to favourite movies are Gladiators, SAW, Garuda Di Dadaku, and many others movies. Basically the list can go on and on. I must be up to date with the latest movies.Cooking has been a huge interest of mine. My mom's a great cook- especially in Indonesian food. I think I have got it from her. From my point of view, having learned how to cook, makes a persons life much easier.

 

Then last but not least I love praying. I pray as much as I can. Being a muslim and not praying, just doesn't go together, so that is why I pray. I also feel that whenever I pray, it helps me getting forward and achieving more and more.
